Job Overview and Responsibilities:
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The job is multifunctional. The incumbent would be trained on all aspects of production and related safety concerns and expected to perform all.
Physical Requirements include moving materials with and without material handling devices (normally <30#, but can be up to 55# (alone) lifting at times). Pushing and pulling equipment, bending, kneeling, stair climbing, overhead stretching/reaching would all be involved in manufacturing, set-ups and clean-ups. Cleaning and maintaining clean equipment and work area while manufacturing materials is required. Due to lone work and communication needs good eyesight and verbal ability is necessary. Incumbent must be able to write (print clearly and neatly) and will be required to use a computer to enter and look up data. Incumbent must be able to perform all functions in hot (up to 95 degrees) and humid environment. Incumbent must be able to work with glass, silica and carbon fiber, resins (epoxies and phenolics), and comfortably wear proper personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety shoes, coverall suits, respirators, etc.
Mental Abilities include able to understand directions given verbally or orally. Decision making abilities will be needed, with common sense and reasoning directing those decisions. Communication is mandated. Employee must offer and receive information, criticism and data in a positive manner.
Education and Experience:
Must be a High School graduate or equivalent with documentation.
The incumbent is accountable for his/her and fellow employees' safety, the quality and quantity of material produced, and the accuracy and neatness of data. High standards are set in these areas, along with housekeeping and personal hygiene. All functions for continuous improvements are monitored, and the employee is accountable for this. Participation in meetings such as safety, quality, and production issues is mandatory.
Communication and interaction occur with Production Supervisor, fellow employees (same shift and other shifts), other departments on site (quality, shipping, office, etc.) and visitor/customers.
