Job Overview and Responsibilities

This position is to conduct synthetic organic chemistry research to develop next generation of commercial products
  • Synthesis and structure elucidation of organic compounds/monomers for application in a variety of polymer stabilization areas
  • Develop independently viable synthetic routes to target molecules
  • Conduct advanced literature search to develop synthetic routes
  • Process development work for successful compound(s) for scale up and manufacturing
  • Documentation of experimental work and prepare monthly progress reports and formal company reports summarizing work and key findings
  • Work effectively with application testing and analytical groups
  • Keep up-to-date on relevant literature
  • Up to 10% of travel may be required

Education and Experience

·        Ph.D. in synthetic organic chemistry

·        Post-doctoral experience in synthetic organic chemistry field is desirable

  • 1-3 years relevant industrial or academic experience preferred


Must have experience understanding the analysis of data from standard separations, spectroscopy, and other analytical techniques

•Experience in process development and scale-up is desirable
•Experience in polymer chemistry and polymer stabilization theory is a plus
•Should be a self-motivated and empowered individual able to perform work safely with a minimum of supervision
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present results to technical peers as well as to business management
•Temperament to work collaboratively in a team environment
•Should be proactive, results driven, and having can-do attitude
•Strong track record of peer-reviewed research publication
