Production Inventory Coordinator

Job Overview and Responsibilities:

Track inventory, both on and off site, and recommend or conduct disposition of unavailable and aged materials.  This includes some negotiation with distressed chemical customers.  Communicate with other responsible parties about material dispositions.  
Manage requests for rail, sample shipments, review of availability, request pulling, package, shipment, and tracking  
Build trucks bound for distribution center, Bossier Arrow Railyard and create necessary shipping documents 
Back up Production Planner in process orders planning,  Sales Order confirmation and inbound Raws, etc
Track weekly/monthly department and plant performance metrics, generating a variety of production and inventory reports  
Support plant performing various administrative duties as needed, from ordering shipping supplies, production filters, etc 
Review/scan and adjust daily Process Orders in SAP;  adjust Finished Goods and Raw Materials tanks Daily as needed


Create and share spreadsheets tracking management of non-performing inventory (NPI)
Monitor NPI and generate plans for disposition, notifying affected parties, reminding if necessary
Pull Materials Management information for NPI dashboard and populate 
Arrange for samples to be pulled and packaged then arrange shipment to customers, Bristol, or CMC 
Build truckloads to rail and generate associated RCS documents
Scan and attach all production batch sheets  in RCS and then file them
Prepare and schedule waste shipments and make necessary adjustments to inventory in SAP, disposal, etc.
Perform various other duties as necessary and backup Outbound/Inbound and Front Desk Coordinators as needed
Led and process all End of Month inventory requirements


  • Follow safety rules and maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Conform to site HSSE policies and procedures.
  • Report all safety incidents and near misses and participate in investigations as needed.
  • Represent Solvay, USA through daily actions that reinforce the corporate values; demonstrating personal commitment to a safe, healthy and environmentally sound workplace for employees.
  • Prepare shipping documentation for non-hazardous and hazardous sample shipments.  
  • Actively participate in the plant behavioral safety program.
  • Prepare Dangerous Goods Declarations for hazardous overseas shipments.

Education and Experience:
HS degree required
Inventory or Logistics certifications or degrees desirable

Good electronic and verbal communication skills are a must, required with local personnel both in and out of the department, corporate functions, customer service, and distribution center personnel  
Must be able to manage frequent phone and email communication  
Must be able to operate efficiently while remaining flexible in a dynamic environment  
A working knowledge of SAP and SRM  
Other computer software skills needed for Microsoft Office and Google Docs, Sheets
