Soda Ash & Derivatives is the world’s largest producer of soda ash and sodium bicarbonate, sold primarily to the glass industries and also used in detergents, agro, food and feed industries. It provides resilient profitability thanks to good pricing, dynamics growing at mid-single digit rate, underpinned by high-quality assets. As part of our development, we are looking for a New Business Development specialist for by-products, reporting to the Business By-product Valorization Manager. Job Overview and Responsibilities:
You will be to contribute to the business development of our different by-products such as fine limestone, gypsum, unburnt and out of spec products (carbonate + bicarbonate). More specifically, you will create new market from scratch for our facility in Italy (Rosignano), as well as, for the German market, two facilities in Germany (Rheinberg and Bernburg) and one in France (Dombasle).
●Better understand and assess the local demand and opportunities around the plant and customers’ needs
●Generate interest and negotiate with new customers and converters for the most promising local market segments in Italy
●Leverage on current agreement and negotiate with customers to increase margin on current contracts
●Support the analysis of Solvay’s competitive positioning (data collection, regulation, call for tender,…)
●Work closely with the plant and technical team to better fit the by-products quality with the market demand if needed
●Understand the local logistics flow opportunities in collaboration with supply chain team
