Job Overview and Responsibilities:
  • Install, recondition, repair, and troubleshoot various types of mechanical equipment throughout all areas of the plant as assigned.

  • Rebuild rotating equipment back to original condition meeting all of the original equipment manufacturers standards & specifications understanding critical clearances and tolerances.

  • Install rotating equipment understanding how to use precision tools & laser alignment.

  • Familiar with agitators, blowers, compressors, cooling towers, extruders, fans, gearboxes, heat exchangers, mechanical seals, piping, pressure vessels, pumps, rotary valves, safety relief devices, steam traps, vacuum pumps, valves, and other mechanical equipment.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical equipment and systems.

  • Utilize all types of industrial shop and portable tools safely and effectively

  • Read and understand mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.Complete required written documentation regarding mechanical equipment and systems.

  • Active involvement in achieving department and site wide goals in safety, environmental compliance, reliability, quality and cost control.

  • Participate in safety meetings, JHA’s, HAZOP’s, and incident investigations.

  • Actively advance knowledge and skills in mechanical competencies.

Education and Experience:
High school diploma and/or technical training certification
3-5 years of experience in an industrial environment

Skilled in basic equipment rigging, hoist usage, crane operations, and fork lift operations

Additional Information
  • Must be available for overtime and emergency call-ins during night shift, weekends and holidays.
