Customs & Trade Compliance Operations officer - Trade Preference

The Customs & Trade Control Operations Service is part of the organization of CCT (Customer Credit and Trade) in SBS, and operates in 3 different areas: Customs management, Trade control and Trade preference. Its main mission is to provide support and transactional services to the GBUs and to guarantee the compliance for Solvay group. CTC teams operate on GTS (Global Trade System), a SAP module to manage Customs and Trade control activities.

Job Overview and Responsibilities

As part of SBS CCT CTC Operations team, and for a defined geographical perimeter, the CTC Operations officer will have the following responsibilities:

Free Trade Agreements - Origin management in GTS
  • Coordinate the launch of the calculation of preferential origin of products in the system for the different Free Trade Agreements where Solvay operates
  • Verificate the accuracy of Bill of Materials and procurement indicators with GBU Supply Chain and Procurements teams
  • Ensure 1st level of support towards Customer Service
Export Trade control in GTS
  • Analyze export control: compare the sales orders to the official blocked partner’s lists and the specific regulations of countries under embargo

Export customs operations in GTS
  • Be the main contact with the Global Business Unit (GBU) in case of issue with an export customs declaration
  • Be the main contact with the french production sites in case of interface issues with French Customs system

Education and Experience

  • University degree (Economy, International business, Global trade…)
  • First experience in supply chain or commercial area


  • English is mandatory, french and project methodology is a plus
  • Knowledge of SAP ECC
  • Curious, enthusiast, open minded, team worker, you are able to evolve in a moving environment
