VIE Contract - Category Buyer for General Expenses EMEA

Job Overview and Responsibilities:
Within the General Expenses (GENEX) and IS/IT domain, the candidate will take over the portfolio of a GENEX Buyer.

He will mainly be in charge of the following categories/segments: Car Fleet, Communication, Laboratory studies.

The scope of the mission will be mainly composed of the following responsibilities:

1.For the different segments, develop market knowledge and customer needs knowledge
Collect relevant financial and regulatory information, and follow market trends for communication, car fleet, laboratory studies. Perform market research and identify and analyze potential suppliers.
Collect, analyze and anticipate the demands and needs of internal customers and prescribers.

2.Negotiate purchasing contracts
Prepare the negotiation (identify and check potential suppliers/subcontractors, develop the RFQ, and define the negotiation strategy).
Meet with potential suppliers/subcontractors and negotiate contract conditions with selected suppliers/subcontractors.
Formalize the contracts and service level agreements (SLA’s) with the subcontractors and suppliers, and ensure they are approved by Solvay legal department if necessary.

3.Manage purchasing contracts
Deploy the contracts within own perimeter and communicate to all relevant stakeholders.
Follow up whether the supplier / subcontractor respects the agreements and performs up-to-standard. 
Organize and participate in supplier evaluation and define action plans for the suppliers.
Create contingency plans in order to handle delivery problems. 
Follow-up on contract exit plans / accompany contracts end-of-life.

4.Actively participate in the purchasing network
Participate in and/or manage transversal purchasing projects
Participate in GENEX team networks to share best practices and projects
Close collaboration with GENEX function buyers and Site Buyers to identify group opportunities and synergies


Education and Experience:
  • University degree or equivalent by experience (Commercial background – Business school)
  • Have a first successful experience in the purchasing environment is a plus.
