As part of the Solvay’s Composite Materials Global Business Unit Supply Chain Excellence (SCE) team, overall objective of the Supply Chain Excellence Project Leader will be to elevate Composite Materials (CM) global Supply Chain capabilities generating significant EBITDA impact. Optimize process & practices through projects and deliver strong results on Supply Chain projects into CM Global Business Unit (GBU).

Job Overview and Responsibilities:
  • Manage complex end to end Supply Chain projects to create significant cost, cash or sales impact for CM GBU from diagnoses to implementation.
  • Influence and support CM GBU to revise their processes in all the fields of supply chain (SC strategy, SC planning, logistics, Customer Service).
  • Participate actively to definition & design of new SC tools/ methodologies.
  • Benchmark the SC effectiveness and performance internally and externally.
  • Influence and support the CM organization to identify optimization actions around current tools, packages and platforms.
  • Research and study innovations and new concepts, and assess their applicability for the own processes (including cost/benefit analysis).
  • Provide the expertise for SC process and tools.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the deployment of actions committed to the CM BUs in their area.
  • Responsible to share the transversal experience (BUs, Functions).
  • Implement best practices among the various regional SC teams.
  • Understand the CM GBU Supply Chain specificities.
  • Work proactively to ensure optimized ways of working across the CM GBU in the sake of efficiency and cost management (working capital and EBITDA).
  • Ensure Safety + EBITDA & Cash impact targets are generated;
  • Potentially provide training on SC related topics to different representatives of the CM GBU.



Education and Experience:

Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree required (Supply Chain, Management, Chemical or Industrial Engineering degree preferred). Master’s degree a plus.
  • 10-15 years of relevant Supply Chain experience.
  • APICS Certificate is preferred.
  • Understanding of Lean/Six Sigma Principles preferred.
  • Extensive experience in Consultancy (Supply Chain Transformation).
  • Familiarity with Supply Chain network (logistics, planning and forecasting, transport and distribution).
  • Advanced project management skills (within the supply chain sector) required.
  • Demonstrated strong ability to work with cross functional teams and across functions understanding real end to end need of businesses
  • Very good oral/written communication and computer skills Fluent in English (Chinese and French also desirable).
  • Strong abilities in problem solving, analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Must thrive in a fast paced environment and be able to work independently.
  • Experience in Supply Chain advanced analytics applications.
  • Ability to work well with all levels within the Solvay organization.  
  • Mobility to travel 30-50% of the time (Domestic & International).
  • Location can be at Alpharetta, Georgia, Greenville, TX or Anaheim/Orange, CA.
